Also eines steht fest. Ich brauche noch so ein Kleid. Und noch eins.... Es gibt die Wickelkleidfans und die Wickelkleidhasser. Ich gehöre eindeutig zur ersten Sorte. Und zwar immer schon. Bei Ute ist es andersherum und zwar auch immer schon. Warum, das erzählt sie Euch weiter unten. Warum dieses Kleid eine Ausnahme ist, auch. Aber zunächst zu meinem Kleid.

Bisher waren alle Schnitte von Monika Schneidernmeistern ein voller Erfolg in meinem Kleiderschrank. Das ist wie der Lieblingsladen, bei dem man immer etwas findet. Ein neuer Schnitt? Den brauche ich unbedingt, fast egal, worum es sich handelt. Ok, es gibt auch bei mir eine grundsätzliche Skepsis z. B. Jumpsuits gegenüber. Aber vermutlich würde ein Schneidernmeistern Jumpsuit meine Bedenken auch hier schnell ausräumen. NocheinWickelkleidbitte jedenfalls hat es mir von vornherein angetan.



Das ist ja längst nicht die erste Station der Blogtour, daher wisst Ihr vermutlich schon alles. Es ist ein ECHTES Wickelkleid, also tatsächlich offen. Die Abnäher im Rücken führen zu einer perfekten Passform. Die Bindebanddetails sind clever und nachvollziehbar gelöst. Was noch? Der Ausschnitt lässt Einblicke zu, also trage ich gern ein kontrastierendes Top drunter.


Der Stoff ist ein weichfallender Slubjersey in Anthrazit meliert. Ich mag es ja schlicht, den Kontrast lieber im Detail. Der Stoff unterstreicht den sportlichen Aspekt des Schnitts und trägt sich traumhaft. Perfekt für frühsommerliche Temperaturen und Stimmungen.

I don ́t do wrap dresses.
I have tried. And failed.
Feeling beautiful for me is also about feeling comfortable and relaxed in my clothes.
Wrap dresses have never delivered this for me. Too clingy. Too much cleavage. Constant
rearranging of a fold that never stays put....
I see other women look fantastic and effortless in a wrap dress (I have sewn a few for my
best friend who looks amazing in it!) but that is just not me.


So, why on earth did I sew this new pattern by Monika aka Schneidernmeistern?!

Well, for once because I trust in her abilities to draft a very good pattern. And secondly
because I like a challenge and wanted to find a way to make this style work for me.
And I think I have found it! Worn like a long (wrap) coat or loosely tied over pants and with
a top underneath I feel very comfortable and at ease. No fidgeting!
Inspired by the day gowns you can see everywhere right now and duster coats worn over
dresses and pants I chose a light sweatshirt fabric that would not cling to my body and also work like a cardigan.


I love the shaping the back darts provide and even worn like a “real wrap dress”, this dress
gives a good coverage.
The way the neckband and the cut on facing finishes the front edge is very clever and I
can always count on Monika to teach me something new.
So, if even a wrap dress skeptic like me can be convinced by this pattern, we can surely
call it a winner! I can only encourage you to give it a try and be inspired by all the other

side towards the hem to account for the lack of stretch in my fabric, length of the largest
